While the sun is shining and summer is in full swing, we're embracing one of our favourite traditions, Christmas in July.
It's the perfect excuse to fill our days with festive cheer, cosy memories, and the comforting aroma of gingerbread, even in the middle of summer.

A Brief History of Christmas in July
The tradition of Christmas in July dates back nearly a century. One of the earliest recorded celebrations took place at a summer camp in North Carolina during the 1930s, where campers decorated the grounds, sang Christmas carols, and enjoyed a festive feast despite the summer sunshine.
Over the years, the tradition spread across the world, particularly in countries such as Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, where December falls during the hottest time of the year. Christmas in July became a wonderful opportunity to enjoy cosy winter traditions, festive food and holiday spirit when the weather felt more like a traditional Christmas.
Today, it's celebrated by Christmas enthusiasts everywhere who simply can't wait until December to enjoy a little festive magic.
Why Christmas Means So Much to Me
If you've followed Aria's Cakes for a while, you'll know that Christmas has always held a very special place in my heart.
Growing up, Christmas was filled with beautiful traditions. My family would spend days creating elaborate nativity scenes, decorating the Christmas tree together, baking festive treats, and listening to Bing Crosby while the house filled with the scent of spices and excitement. Those memories shaped not only my love for Christmas but also the inspiration behind Aria's Cakes.
I now love sharing those same traditions and magical moments with my own family, and through my baking, I hope to help others create memories they'll treasure for years to come.
There's another reason why July always feels a little bit festive to me.
July is my birthday month, although I rarely make a big celebration of it. Instead, my family and friends have their own tradition, they always surprise me with Christmas-themed presents!
They know me so well. Whether it's a beautiful Christmas ornament, a festive cookbook, or something inspired by charming Christmas villages, they somehow manage to bring a little December magic into my birthday every single year.
It reminds me that Christmas isn't just a date on the calendar. It's a feeling of warmth, joy, generosity and togetherness that can be celebrated all year round.
